The POD X Solar Dry Bag is a 20-liter IPX6 waterproof roll-top backpack in 500D PVC tarpaulin with heat-welded seams, a built-in 5V/3W monocrystalline solar panel, and a 5V USB-A output, for kayakers, paddleboarders, rafters, and beach days where gear has to stay dry and the phone has to stay on.

Waterproof first

The shell is 500D PVC tarpaulin, the same class of material used in commercial dry bags, with seams heat-welded rather than sewn so there is no needle hole to leak. Roll the top three times, clip the buckle, and it seals to IPX6: spray, splash, rain, and a sudden dunk. It floats. Documents, a camera, a change of clothes, and electronics come out dry.

Solar second

The face carries a monocrystalline solar panel rated 5V/3W at up to 21% conversion efficiency, feeding a 5V USB-A port. On the deck of a kayak or the lid of a pack in full sun it trickle-charges a phone, a GoPro, a GPS, or a satellite communicator without opening the bag. It is a top-up, not a power station: it keeps a device alive across a long day, and it refills a Fusion power bank for the evening.

Use it right

Roll the top at least three times before clipping. Close the USB port cover before it goes near water. Face the panel at the sun; a flat panel in shade gives little. Rinse salt off the shell and the port cover after ocean days.
